Little Update

I know I haven’t posted for awhile, I’ve gotten a little busy with making bibs and my extra I’m babysitting. Kids are enjoying school, first month done! Got the yard cleaned up for winter, I think it needs one more mowing though and I’m done with canning. Most of you have probably seen these pictures on FB but I thought I might as well share a few of my favorites!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Congratulations Jess Rivers. You won a Boy Bib with your great story! (posted below) FB message me your mailing address please. :)

Austin, who is 6, was invited to his first Bison game with our neighbors last week.

Nearing halftime, my neighbor says, "All right boys, in a little bit, we'll go get some junk food ok?"

Austin looked up at him perplexed, and asked in a worried voice, " You mean, we're going to eat garbage?"

I guess I need to intoroduce our kids to some new lingo, not to mention - "junk food."

GIVEAWAY!!!

Here’s your chance to win one of my first bibs! Woohoo, right? I know, as a mom life doesn’t get much more exciting than this.

So, here’s what you have to do. Leave a comment telling something funny your child has said or done. Jerem will be the impartial, (for real-this isn’t rigged) judge of the best story.

In honor of upcoming deer season I thought these two would be appropriate for my first give-aways. I have about 30 others in various stages that are a little more “traditional” in decorations. But I am kinda diggin’ these two. So I might have to do more like it.

Girl bib. I zoomed in on the deer in the pic below. It is light pink.

Boy bib. When you leave your comment specify which gender you would like in case you win. This isn’t just for parents people…they make great gifts and I’m sure you’ve been around kids’ enough to think up a funny story!

Playin’ with the present from Anson and Paige. We had a nice quiet family celebration for her first birthday. I have to say, I didn’t totally miss planning a whole party. :) Anson and Paige brought plenty of energy for everyone.

So thankful for our little Ava Lou! We love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Plum Sweet and Sour Sauce

001

It looks pretty tasty, huh? Well, it was okay. Jerem and I both agreed it was more sour than sweet. Too sour. But knowing that, all I have to do is add sugar to the sauce before I use it next time.

Kara Stromlund, you’re the winner. Congrats! Your patience, or lack there-of, paid off.

And the Winner is…..

NO ONE. so far.

sauce 003

Keep guessing… ‘cause this jar is yours if you are right. Whoever guessed plums had the right fruit. The only hint I will give is it is going nicely with supper tonight! So is rice.

Guesses Welcome

Any guesses to what I have here and what I’m going to make with it? You might be very surprised. The winner will get some of whatever it is I’m making,  if it turns out. :)

Organizational Tip of the Week

Yes, this is me pretending to be organized. I am not. However, after cleaning kids’ rooms, drawers, etc. I found WAY to many crayons to all fit in the pencil box. I was going to color code them each to their own little baggie, but then a friend told me about seeing this idea in a magazine. It took me about 30 min to sort through a mixture of crayons, markers, pencils, and pens, color code them and put them in the muffin tin. I feel so much better about the house now though. Not sure why since it wasn’t the crayons making the house messy, don’t try and figure out my logic.

An Apple a Day…

Well this week has been a little crazy at our house. Once school starts next week I will be babysitting a little boy 4 days a week. His mom went back to work this week, so I started a week early. Did I mention he has 2 older brothers? So this is what our place has looked like this week. Collin the oldest just turned 7, Anson WILL be 7 in November. Josh will be 5 in December, Paige TURNED 5 in July. Kodiak was 1 in July, Ava WILL be 1 in 2 weeks. So yeah…I basically have 3 sets of twins. I’ve actually only had them 3 days this week,   8-5. And its gone great! Anson announced the first day that it was SOOO much cooler than sisters and then looked quite baffled when Collin informed him he wished he HAD a sister. We’ve done A LOT of playing outside this week and spending time at the park up the street. The kids have been very mindful too of our rules which is great. Today I woke up to rain. yay. Can you hear my enthusiasm? So this is what we did with some of our time this morning.

apple cards 001

Paint the palm red and have them “stamp” the card

apple cards 002

Dip the pointer finger in green for the leaves and add brown crayon for the stem.

apple cards 003   I had the kids sign their names on the back first under “made for you by:” It was definitely a hit, and really quite easy!

In the meantime we had a couple babies swapping nuckers, and causing mayhem. They need to work on their friendship. :)
