Spring

How we welcomed spring this year.

2010_03210012

Paige and Anson tested the water (or rather ice) levels and said our yard was safe from flooding.

Jerem attempted to burn some leaves. They were still a little too wet.

Bob (our neighbor) got his first mowing in. Him and I have a long-standing competition on mowing our yards. More on that later.

Ava was hanging out, eyeing the sandbox and thinking about how much sand she would eat this summer.

And I was the official first-day-of-spring photographer. Imagine that.

Paige doesn't look at that thrilled that it's spring in this last picture....looks like you're getting a bit of the "stink-eye."

How did I miss this post? Sorry.

Very cute pictures. I laughed at #1 where the kids were giving you flood reports. :) The one of Jerem cracked me up. He looked so laid back and there's a streak of fire in front of him. I'm not too used to this burn the leaves thing... city people woulda called 911 on me!

Happy Spring! :)

I just have to add my 2 cents :-) Not sure what Jerem is trying to accomplish - most people RAKE the leaves into a pile and then burn. The neighbor guy may be using his mower, but I'm guessing that he is "raking" his leaves the easy way. Doesn't give you quite the same workout, but it does get the job done quickly. And the kids - no sliding in the ditches this spring? They learned :-)

I agree with all of the above. Jerem gave up and started using the mower about 30 min after the pics were taken. :) And yes, no more ditch surfing, Anson said he didn't want to this year
