How To Make Pizza (according to toddlers)

1. Smear flour all over the counter

2. Snack on some cheese to get your strength up

3. Rub some flour on arms and face for good measure

4. Watch the person in charge roll out the crust. Continue to eat cheese.

5. Spread sauce on crust

6. Person in charge grows needs to grow 2 more arms

7. If there is any cheese left sprinkle it on the sauce

8. Eat more cheese

9. Put pepperoni on the cheese

10. Bake until done

11. Ignore the mess in the kitchen and go take a nap! (that step was for the adult, not toddler, just in case you were confused)

Last weekend we enjoyed a visit from my brother and sister-in-law Kim. We had a great visit. The guys got the insulation blown in, us girls got pedicures. Seemed fair to us! The only complaint I have about their visit to us? It was TOO SHORT!!! Miss these guys already!

Paige and her Uncle Chet have a very..ummm…special (?) relationship!

Anson said he was going to miss uncle Chet very much because “he taught me so many awesome things”. Primarily, the correct way to shoot a rubber band.

Kim and I thought it would be fun to carve pumpkins. Thought being the operative word here. Turns out we did it on our own and Paige was the photographer. What a mess!

Back away..I have a knife!

Uncle Chet tried to get Ava to warm up to him the whole visit. Not sure this was the right way to go about it.

A Year Older

I can't believe how much the kids have changed from their school pictures last year! They are both loving school this year. At this point the way things are graded is O-outstanding, S-Satisfactory (there are also S+ and S-'s) and N-needs more work. Anson has 8 subjects and is getting O in 4 and S+'s in 4..yes I'm bragging a little :). Paige doesn't get progress reports sent home every 2 weeks like him but she comes home with lots of O's and S's on her homework. She seems to really love anything that involves creativity whereas he likes the academic side of things and HATES to draw or color. We're so proud of these two and our daily prayer for them is that they reflect in school the things they are taught here at home.

Repetitive

I know I put these pictures on facebook, but not all of you have fb. Well, okay, pretty much Jill M. you don’t. So I apologize for those of you who were looking forward to a new post and then came and realized you have seen these already.

We had a GREAT fall day for pictures Saturday. My friend Kara and I headed out with the kids to get some new art for our walls. By then end of the shoot we were both exhausted from yelling and well, yelling. We really hope our children listen to instruction better in school than they did for us with pictures. “Anson, put your head here, feet here. No. Is that where your head is supposed to go? Look, like THIS, feet HERE. Nevermind, Ava’s crying.” Then on the other hand there’s Paige; “Mom, how about this pose?” (Laying on her side on a log with her head propped up in her hand) “Mom take a picture of me. Is this cute?” Ahhhhhh….is this why people PAY to have others take their kids’ pictures?

Out of the 400 that were taken we did each get 50 good ones, here is a few to enjoy.

Kara’s boys. Riley and Sawyer. By far my FAVORITE of them. They are just too cute!

This one is on it’s way with the verse “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11” printed on the bottom. I wish Jerem was in it too, but lets face it, guys hate picture time.

I left some of the favorites out. We have to give you SOMETHING to look forward to with the Christmas card!

Ava Lou turns TWO!!!

 

 

Happy Birthday! Planning a nice quiet family birthday evening. Waiting until she “really cares” to start the parties with everyone coming.

Summer is Over

I can’t believe she’s in 1st grade!! And he’s in 2nd. They’re growing up SO fast!

Waiting for that 6:50 bus. Yuck!

So what am I doing with my quiet day you ask? Watching a 4 year old, 2-2 year olds and a 10 month old!
